Kyra Pence Receives Catholic Bishop’s Altar Server Award

BUFFALO — Kyra Pence, 12 of Randolph was selected from St. Patrick’s parish in Randolph to be honored at the 48th annual Catholic Bishop’s Altar Server awards mass and banquet recently.

Kyra was honored at a mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Buffalo along with 116 other altar servers from the diocese. The mass was celebrated by Bishop Richard Malone.

During the mass, the altar servers were each presented with a medallion with their names inscribed on it.

Following the mass, a luncheon was provided for more than 600 family members and friends of the honorees and priests and deacons at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

Kyra has been an altar server for St. Patrick’s church in Randolph for the past three years.

She is the daughter of Tim and Dana Pence of Randolph. Grandparents are Daniel and Violet MacLaughlin of Randolph and Tim and Mary Pence of Randolph.

Kyra is a sixth-grader at Randolph Central School. She enjoys soccer, basketball, softball, hunting and helping on her family’s alpaca farm.
