Auxiliary Sets Upcoming Events
The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 met recently. Membership chairperson Sally Lawson is now accepting 2024 dues. They are $30, and can be paid by mail, or they can be dropped off at the post. The unit will be making dinner for the joint Legion/Auxiliary/SAL meeting Friday at Post 1280. Everything is ready for Unit 128o’s annual Vendor Showcase set for Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members of Unit 1280 will be out front of the legion on Halloween handing out candy, fruit and books between 5 and 7 p.m. The unit is working with the Legion and Sons on future activities that include Decking the Halls on Nov. 26 and working with the village for the Winterfest in February. Members present voted to donate money to a Unit member that will be attending the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., recently with her grandfather, a veteran of Post 1280. The next auxiliary meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7.
