Busti to celebrate July Fourth Holiday
LAKEWOOD – As part of the nation’s 250th Anniversary, on July 3, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., a celebration will be held at the Busti Town offices, 125 Chautauqua Ave. The town has sent to its residents an invitation to celebrate 250 years of freedom. There will be free hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, pop/water, and cake. There also will be a bounce house.
Reg Lenna To Show Waiting For Guffman July 1
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen Waiting for Guffman at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 1. Christopher Guest (This Is Spinal Tap, Best in Show) directs and stars in the film. Blaine, Missouri, may be small, but Corky St. Clair, played by Guest, always dreams big. Determined to get back to the lights of Broadway, he’s created “Red, White and Blaine,” a musical celebration of the burg’s 150th anniversary. Waiting for Guffman is rated R and is 184 minutes long. The 1996 film also stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Fred Willard. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Boots Riley directing Keke Palmer and Demi Moore in the comedy crime film I Love Boosters (July 10 at 7 p.m.), Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman in the caper thriller Tuner (July 15 at 7 p.m.) and Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve in the hit psychological horror film Backrooms (July 17 at 7 p.m.)
Veterans Memorial Bridge To Close Overnight Tuesday, Wednesday
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery in Chautauqua County will be closed as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, affecting only the eastbound lane; and at 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2.
Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Route 394 and State 430.
CVCS Board Of Education To Meet Wednesday
SINCLAIRVILLE – The annual organizational meeting and regular monthly meeting of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District Board of Education will be held on Wednesday, July 1 at 5 p.m. in the Middle/High School multi-purpose room and and via Zoom. The public is welcome to attend.
