CVCS Board To Meet Today

The Cassadaga Valley Central School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. today in the middle-high school multipurpose room. This meeting will also be held via Zoom at a second location: 6042 Monmouth Road, Van Wert, Ohio. The public is welcome to attend.

Macrame Class Set For Thursday At Busti Library

BUSTI — The Hazeltine Public Library has space available for its macrame class at 11 a.m. Thursday at the library. The class is open to anyone but reservations must be made by noon today. Instructor Sara Cruea will lead participants through the making of a macrame hoop with floral decor. There is a $5 fee per hoop to cover materials and there is no limit to the number of hoops that can be made. Reservations will be taken at the library, in person or by calling 487-1281. A message maybe left after hours. The library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti.

Busti Gazebo Concert Is Sat.

The Busti Gazebo Concert will present “Denny Maze & the Misfits” on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. The group is known for its bluegrass music. Members include Denny Maze, AJ Maze, Bill Smith, Tom Hodges, Ed Bennett and Ken Burford. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association.

TEA Party To Discuss COVID During Meeting

The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 1309 Norby Road. Sheriff Jim Quattrone will speak regarding his role in dealing with the COVID issue and other related matters. Also, Dr. Ken Erickson will be presenting his perspective on COVID policies, vaccines and masking especially as it relates to schools reopening. There will be an update on the resolution presented to the county legislature in declaring Chautauqua County a sanctuary county for the Constitution. All are welcome.

Ethics Board To Meet Aug. 25

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Room 149 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. Current members of the board are John Hamels, Diane Hannum, John Marengo, David Rowe and Mary Kay Szwejbka. Individuals attending the meeting will be required to wear a face mask within the security screening area of the building and if they are not vaccinated for COVID-19. To maximize the safety of county employees and visitors in accordance with the CDC’s recommendations, it is recommended that allcounty employees and visitors wear a mask in public indoor settings in county buildings.

Reunion Is Set For Aug. 29 At Lawson Park

There will be a reunion for past Medical Records/HIM/QI employees of WCA/UPMC Chautauqua from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Lawson Park, 3359 Lawson Road, Busti. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass, their own beverage and table service. Families are welcome. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.
