Steve and Judy Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 2020. They are the parents of two elderly felines: Charlie and Emily.

Johnson and the former Judy Thorp were married Sept. 25, 1970, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.Y.

Johnson is a retired U.S. Marine and served in Viet Nam. He retired from the Jamestown Police Department as a lieutenant and served the Chautauqua County Sheriff Department on lake patrol. He is involved with the Lucille Ball Little Theater and wrote a book about his recon war experiences called, ”Cammie Up!” Mrs. Johnson retired from CC Ring Elementary School, where she had been employed as a fourth grade teacher. Mrs. Johnson is very active in her church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and its food bank. They are the former proprietors of the school supply store, It’s Elementary.
