Murvel and Margaret Ostrander of  Hultquist Place Assisted Living, Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Sakura Buffet in Lakewood, N.Y. The celebration was hosted by their children, Kathleen (Ray) Hofgren and Lyle (Nancy Aitken) Ostrander, all of Jamestown, N.Y., and Lynne (Jim) Hilderbrand of California. They also  have 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ostrander and the former Margaret Seastrum were married Jan. 3, 1946, in the parsonage of Buffalo Methodist Church.

Ostrander was co-owner of Chanutauqua Transit. He is a member of the Scottist Rite, Jamestown Shrine Club, Sylvan Lodge 303 F&A Mason and Ismailia Temple. Mrs. Ostrander is a member of the Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395 and the Jamestown Mt. Sinai/Mecca.
