Paul and Martha Cooley of Gerry recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a family reunion in Morgantown, W.Va. They are the parents of three daughters: Nancy Phillips of Hickory, N.C., Judy Wright of Ruckersville, Va., and Carol Payton, of Suffolk, Va. They also have five granddaughters.

They were married June 4, 1955. Their fathers the Rev. H.E. Cooley and the Rev. O.E. Anderson performed the ceremony.

Cooley is a retired teacher and coach from Cassadaga Valley Central School and longtime basketball official. His wife has been a full-time homemaker and loyal supporter of her husband’s career.
