Jamestown Area Soap Box Derby set for Saturday

The 41st annual Jamestown Area Soap Box Derby will be held Saturday at the John S. Sinatra Track, located outside Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park in Jamestown. The derby, which will start at 9 a.m., will feature drivers in the Stock, Super Stock and Masters divisions. The winners of each division will qualify for the World Championships in Akron, Ohio in July. JCC's Rodgers rises to 18th for women at NJCAAs

CHAUTAUQUA — It was another pristine day at Chautauqua Golf Club on Thursday with round three of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Men's and Women's National Championships, hosted by Jamestown Community College. For the women, the Jayhawks’ Cadence Rodgers fought her way into the top 18 through 54 holes with a 98, her best round of the tournament. NEWARK — An eight-run fifth inning propelled Jamestown to a 10-6 come-from-behind victory over Newark in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest on Thursday night before 100 fans at Colburn Park. Fredonia High School hosting sports camps

Fredonia High School will be hosting youth sports camps in late June and July. The first camp offered will be a flag football camp Thursday, June 25 through Saturday, June 27. The camp will run 5-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Wheelock Primary School. It is available to any school-age child. The cost of the camp is $75 or $125 for two family members. All campers receive a T-shirt with awards to be presented to age-level winners.
