Reader Sings Praises To JHS Concert Band

To The Reader’s Forum: I just had the extreme pleasure of attending the spring concert of the Jamestown High School bands. Plural, because there is the Symphonic band - kind of the junior varsity, and the Concert band, all seniors. The Symphonic band played some very difficult music flawlessly, and of course, the concert band was perfection. I was surprised that there was not standing room only. To The Reader’s Forum: The uptick of child abuse in this country has hit a more than alarming cases. And what is more alarming is the disgraceful trend of absence of concern by today’s society. To The Reader’s Forum: Exercising, eating healthy, getting proper sleep and having a positive attitude are all good habits to have but do not prevent getting measles, mumps, polio, chicken pox, whooping cough and a host of other contagious diseases. A recent letter to the editor of this paper contained some appallingly ignorant misinformation. There are serious repercussions for those who experience these diseases.
