To The Reader’s Forum: I respectfully request that Congress pass the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act, H.R. 5434/S. 2602, in 2020. The bipartisan RPM Act protects the right to convert an automobile or motorcycle into a racecar used exclusively at the track. to be used exclusively on the racetrack. City Should Address Traffic Signals On Washington Street

To The Reader’s Forum: Whoever sets the timing on the traffic lights cannot even pretend to care about global warming or air pollution, say nothing of wasting fuel. The Washington Street traffic lights cause the driver to stop so that the coming light causes back up so drivers have a green light but cannot move forward without blocking the intersection. The only decent decision is to stay at your green light until the light ahead has turned, thus opening up an opportunity to move forward at the next red light, causing those behind to suffer the same dilemma. Drive-By Rabies Clinic Is A Brilliant Idea

To The Reader’s Forum: I recently took advantage of the free rabies clinic to assure proper protection of my two cats offered in the City of Jamestown. What a brilliant idea to offer this drive by clinic. The pre-registration was processed by the City Clerk’s office where I was greeted kindly and given an appointment. Entry to the clinic was on Third Street meeting a person, checking my appointment and directed me to line up my vehicle to await my turn to see the veterinarian. Parking Meters Will Be End Of Main Street Business

To the Readers’ Forum: If the smart meters are installed in the free zone, it will most likely be the end of the business left on Main Street. We feel we have the right to put our two cents in because Landers has been on Main Street since 1952. We have owned it since 1980. Parking should not be a money-maker for the city.
