JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Dimari N. Fields, 19, of Jamestown, was charged July 2 with second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Buffalo Street and Beechview Avenue for a reported fight. During the investigation, police said, it was found that Fields was in the presence of a female who has an order of protection against Fields. Pennsylvania commits to purchasing grapes from 11 Erie-area growers

A neighboring state is taking action in regard to the grape crop. On Thursday, the Shapiro Administration dedicated $500,000 to fund an emergency purchase, process, and transport of 350 tons of grapes from 11 Erie, Pa.-area growers whose buyer canceled contracts for this season’s crops unexpectedly in March. State under Energy Watch due to heat wave

Unrelenting heat is again affecting the New York state grid. On Thursday afternoon, the New York Independent System Operator issued an Energy Watch due to a decline in operating reserves. The grid is operating normally at this time and there are adequate resources to meet forecasted demand. An Energy Watch is when operating reserves are expected to be lower than 2,620 MW for longer than 60 minutes.
