DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk Police Department is investigating a suspicious death that occurred between the dates of July 22 to 29, in or around the area of 515 Dove St.
The deceased has been identified as Owen A. Taylor, 89, of Dunkirk, who was reported by the department as missing on Wednesday. The circumstances surrounding Taylor's death will be determined by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office following the completion of an autopsy and any additional forensic testing.
As part of the investigation, detectives identified, located, and interviewed a person of interest. At this time, no charges have been filed in relation to this case, and the investigation remains active. Detectives continue to gather evidence and conduct follow-up interviews as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding Taylor's death.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information related to this case, or who may have been in the area of the 500 block of Dove Street between the dates of July 22 to 29, to contact the Dunkirk Police Department at 716-366-2266.
