Rachel A. Boerst

Rachel A. Boerst, 77, of 337 Newberry Dr., Endicott, N.Y., and formerly of Jamestown passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2018 at UHS Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident, she was born Oct. 23, 1941, in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late Gilbert and Elva Bailey Molin.

Rachel was a graduate of Jamestown High School Class of 1959. Following graduation, she worked for the Social Security Administration for 10 years. After raising her daughters, she was employed by Jamestown Public Schools until retirement in 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William Boerst; daughters: Robin Boerst and Julie (Joe) Boerst Italiano; grandchildren: Dmitri, Susanna, Beatrice and Violate Italiano, all of Endicott, N.Y.; two sisters: Diana Gronquist of Jamestown, and Linda Costanzo of Hemlock, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Robert Boerst; sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Blixt and Barbara (Ed) Slumsky.

Per the family’s wishes, Rachel’s body was donated to the University of Rochester Anatomical Gifts Program, Rochester, N.Y.

Hopler and Eschbach Funeral Home, Binghamton, N.Y., was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
