A Jamestown man has been taken into custody after a 12-hour standoff today.

Jamestown police say 28-year-old Nick Brown barricaded himself in a home on Spring Street Extension around 3 a.m. with a 9-year-old child inside.

Around 2:15 p.m. police entered the home and took Brown into custody. The child was reported safe and given to family members.

Brown was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
