Joyce (Watrous) Lucas
Joyce (Watrous) Lucas, 83, of Heritage Village Retirement Campus of Gerry, N.Y., passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, in the care of her family from cancer peacefully in her sleep.
Joyce was born April 26, 1938, in Corry, Pa. She graduated from Corry High School and later on earned her nursing degree. She served as a nurse for 30 plus years working in the Jamestown area. She was married to her husband, Charles Lucas, for 50 years. Joyce had a strong Christian faith. She loved traveling with her husband in their later years of their marriage. She was fond of flower gardens, playing cards with her friends and family, and was an avid reader.
Joyce is survived by her two children: Debra Delcamp of Brocton and Gary (Loretta) Lucas of Jamestown; a brother, James (Joyce) Watrous of Burnsville, N.C.; sister-in-law, Patricia Watrous of Jamestown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lucas; her parents: Alta Mae and Lyle Watrous; a son, Bruce Lu-cas; and a brother, Harris Watrous.
A private burial service for immediate family and close friends will take place at Sunset Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
