UPMC Chautauqua nurses recently completed the hospital’s first Pediatric Competency Escape Room Challenge – a Candy Land-themed adventure designed to strengthen pediatric emergency assessment, critical thinking, teamwork, and lifesaving skills. Nursing teams journeyed through Sweetopia, solving puzzles and working through clinical challenges. Challenges included building a Pediatric Assessment Triangle, determining age-appropriate vital signs, weight-based medication calculations, emergency resuscitation and more.
