Tarp Skunks hold on to edge Olean

Trailing 5-3 after six innings, Jamestown rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh and held on for an 8-7 win on Thursday night in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Bradner Stadium. Highlighting the decisive seventh inning for the Tarp Skunks were an RBI single by Dom Costello and a sacrifice fly by Anthony Trommer. Jamestown also took advantage of a passed ball, a bases-loaded walk and a wild pitch to score the other runs. Last month, 579 of the best amateur golfers in the Empire State entered the qualification process for the 103rd New York State Men’s Amateur Championship. Evan Steffen was up to the challenge.
