The Jamestown Community College (JCC) women’s swimming team opened the 2026-27 season the same way it finished the previous year, earning an impressive 94-48 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. On the men’s side, the Jayhawks came up short, falling 108-39.
The women were led by Roxanne Lothian, who captured first place in all three of her events: the 200 individual medley, 100 freestyle, and 100 breaststroke. She was joined in the winner’s circle by Adrianna Bango in the 200 freestyle and Willow Chase in the 50 freestyle, helping Jamestown secure its first victory of the season.
The men’s team had just two swimmers competing in the season-opening meet, but the duo of Isaac Smart and Samuel Hersom combined for three event victories. Smart claimed first place in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle, while Hersom posted the fastest time in the 200 freestyle.
Jamestown will now have a couple of weeks off before returning to action at the Fredonia State University Invitational on Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.
