Anthony Piede led off the bottom of the fifth with an infield single and scored on Dylan Bankoski’s RBI single. Jon Ganey was then hit by a pitch and Donnie Jackson reached on a bunt single to load the bases ahead of Gabe Valentine’s RBI single. Paul Trippy III then had the biggest hit of the frame with a bases-clearing triple to right field for the Marauders (8-7, 6-3).

Zach Zentz followed with an RBI double, Josh Lemanski was hit by a pitch and Greg Orcutt singled to load the bases again before Piede’s two-run double. Bankoski ended the game with an RBI single to left field.

Zentz threw a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk on the mound.

Erik Stenstrom had the Golden Falcons’ lone hit with a double. Gavin Curtis cruised through four innings on the mound for Falconer (3-11, 1-9) before the troublesome fifth.

COUGARS DOUBLE UP BROCTON

BROCTON — Jordan Swanson went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs as Cassadaga Valley defeated Brocton 12-6 in Division 2 action.

John Lewis went 1 for 3 and added another two RBIs for Cassadaga Valley (6-5, 6-4). Greg Edson was 2 for 5 with an RBI and Calvin Hilliker finished 2 for 5. Hunter Johnson picked up the win on the mound, throwing four innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out eight.

Brocton (4-6, 4-6) was paced by Damion Franklin, who went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Nate Laurito went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Grant Gustafson pitched the first two innings and took the loss after giving up six earned runs and striking out just one batter. Aiden Gatto finished the game for the Bulldogs and struck out seven batters.

FREDONIA OUTLASTS GATORS

ALLEGANY — Fredonia gave up a three-run home run to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, but responded with a four-run top of the eighth to beat Allegany-Limestone 8-4 in Division 1 play.

Ashton Putney allowed a single to Vinny LaBella and a walk to Caleb Strade to reach his pitch limit with two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Owen Rush relieved, and with two strikes, the Gators’ Kyree Harmon hit a three-run home run over the center-field fence.

In the top of the eighth, the Hillbillies (11-3, 7-2) reached on three straight walks before Collin Luce’s two-run single. Another run scored on an errant pickoff attempt before Collin Crowell’s sacrifice fly.

Allegany-Limestone (6-9, 2-7) picked up a leadoff single in the bottom of the frame before a pair of groundouts and a strikeout ended the game.

Fredonia went up 2-0 in the top of the first. Putney was hit by a pitch and Matt Cowan hit an RBI single before Luce hit a two-out RBI double.

The Gators scored the first run of the season off Putney in the bottom of the third. Dylan Rhodes singled and Sean Conroy doubled before back-to-back walks forced in a run. The Hillbillies got out of the inning with a 4-6-3 double play.

Fredonia stranded runners on second and third in both the fourth and fifth innings. Allegany-Limestone left the bases loaded in the sixth when Putney picked up back-to-back strikeouts to end the frame.

The Hillbillies made it 4-1 in the top of the seventh inning. Rush and Nathan Sercu singled before a walk to Andrew Cowan loaded the bases. Crowell was then hit by a pitch to force in a run and AJ Kinney hit a sacrifice fly.

Putney finished with 14 strikeouts. Luce was 2 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored; Crowell had two RBIs; and Putney and Sercu each had a hit and a run scored.

Strade struck out six and walked six on the mound for the Gators.

EBERSOLE OUTDUELS HERMAN

NORTH COLLINS — Derek Ebersole outdueled Blake Herman on the mound as North Collins shut out Gowanda 4-0 in Division 3 action.

Ebersole threw a complete-game three-hitter with eight strikeouts and three walks for the Eagles (10-2, 9-2).

Herman was equally impressive with a complete-game two-hitter. He struck out 11 and did not walk a batter while just one of the four runs he allowed was earned.

North Collins took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Zander Miller was hit by a pitch and took second on a wild pitch before Asher Parnitzke’s RBI single to right field.

The Eagles added three unearned runs in the sixth. Ebersole reached on a one-out error and went to second on Scott Armbruster’s infield single before a double-steal and a wild pitch. Warsaw then scored on Miller’s sacrifice fly to make it 4-0.

Brayden Smith had two hits and Herman had one for the Panthers (11-3, 10-1).

PICCOLO STRIKES OUT 17

SILVER CREEK — Aiden Piccolo shined on the mound for Silver Creek/Forestville, striking out 17 batters as he led the Black Knights past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 8-2 in Division 3 action.

Hunter Parks led the Black Knights (4-9, 3-8) offense with a two-run double, while Manny Sanchez, Alex Galfo, Will Duliba and John Steinwachs collected two hits apiece.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley (2-11, 1-10) was led by Nate Wolf with two doubles, a single and an RBI.

WOLFPACK TOPS CHAUTAUQUA LAKE

CLYMER — Clymer/Sherman/Panama’s Bryce Hinsdale and Tate Catanese combined to give up four hits, walk out eight batters and strike out six on the mound as the Wolfpack defeated Chautauqua Lake 5-3 in Division 2.

Clymer/Sherman/Panama (8-3, 8-2) plated a pair of runs in both the second and third innings to get ahead of Chautauqua Lake, and added an insurance run in the fourth. Carson White had the only multi-hit game, collecting two for the Wolfpack with an RBI and a run scored, Gavin Burchanowski, Grant Lictus and Kolin Sturges each had an RBI, and Hinsdale worked two walks and scored.

Devin Hewes turned in another strong pitching performance for Chautauqua Lake, throwing all seven innings giving up six hits, three earned runs and four walks while striking out eight.

Cayden Blackman had the lone RBI for Chautauqua Lake (5-10, 5-6), Nolan Olson hit a double, and Greyson Wellman walked three times and scored twice.

JAMESTOWN FALLS ON ROAD

WEST SENECA — Brayden Delaney had two hits, including a triple, and three runs scored as West Seneca East beat Jamestown 11-4 in nonleague play at Centennial Park.

Antonie Rodriguez singles and scored two runs, while Alex Alvira had an RBI single for the Red & Green. Owen Glover threw five innings and struck out two on the mound for Jamestown.

EAGLES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE BASES

RANDOLPH — Despite picking up just one hit, Ellicottville beat Randolph 7-5 in Division 3 action.

Cameron Mendell had a single for the Eagles (5-7, 4-7), who benefitted from 10 walks and five hit batters.

Rylan Benjamin threw a complete-game four-hitter with four strikeouts for Ellicottville.

Conner Braley had two hits, Michael Bohall doubled and Bryson Pitts singled for the Cardinals (1-13, 1-10).

SATURDAY

FULLER POWERS WESTFIELD OFFENSE

WESTFIELD — Aaron Fuller went 2 for 4 with three RBIs as Westfield beat Pine Valley 8-3 in Division 2 play Saturday.

Danny Bratton went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Mason Baum was 2 for 3 for the Wolverines (1-7, 1-7). Chris Vacanti threw five innings of three-hit ball with nine strikeouts.

For Pine Valley (0-11, 0-10), Camryn Slade and Terence White each singled and drove in a run. Trent Ivett struck out 12 in four innings.
