The Randolph girls bowling team came up just short in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2, but the Cardinals managed to get the last laugh in CCAA competition.
Randolph built a big lead after two games in the CCAA Girls Roll-Offs on Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company, scoring 100 points more in the second game than the next closest team. That significant lead allowed Randolph to cruise to a first-place finish with a linescore of 1,099-1,209-1,079-3,387.
Hinsdale finished with a perfect record in Division 3, but it could not manage the pins Randolph did, coming in second place with a linescore of 1,060-1,106-1,075-,3,241, while also sporting two of the event’s top bowlers.
Division 1 champion Jamestown let the second game get away from it and a strong third game was not enough to jump either Randolph or Hinsdale. The Red & Green finished the strongest with a linescore of 1,052-,1,020-1,131-3,203.
A large part of Jamestown’s final push was senior Abbie Derby, who rolled not only her best, but the competition’s best, in the third game as she fired the high individual scratch game with a 235.

Derby’s 235 was not enough to get her team past Hinsdale, which had a pair of top performers. Analia Degroff rolled the high individual handicap game at 268 and Madison Rondeau delivered the high individual scratch series with a 681.
However, that was not enough to put Hinsdale on top, as a complete team effort from Randolph was highlighted by junior Alyssa Milks rolling the high individual handicap series with a 715.
