EISENHOWER BREEZES BY PANAMA

Clara Steinberg scored 28 points, dished out nine assists and collected five steals to lead the Eisenhower girls basketball team to a 75-37 victory over Panama in the Jamestown Community College Holiday Showcase on Thursday at the Physical Education Complex.

But she had plenty of help.

Lainey Font added 21 points and five steals, and Samantha Childs chipped in 15 points, leaving Coach DJ Steinberg with two wins in as many nights.

“They just flat-out played a fantastic game of basketball,” he said. “They were moving the ball well and finding good shots.”

The Knights (4-3) trailed 18-14 after the first quarter, but limited the Panthers to 19 points the rest of the way.

“We made some adjustments defensively and were up 10 at half,” Coach Steinberg said. “The girls came out of the locker room at halftime and ran away with it.”

Kylie Morgan led Panama with 12 points and Kiera Loberg chipped in 10.
