Former JHS Star Paige Erupts For 39 Points
A former Jamestown High School basketball star turned in quite a performance for the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League earlier this week.
Jaysean Paige, who led the Red Raiders to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Final Four 10 years ago, poured in 39 points, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals in the Celtics’ 116-103 loss to the Motor City Cruise in the Showcase Cup quarterfinal in Las Vegas. The 39 points were a season-high for a Maine player.
For Paige, this season marks his second stint in the G League. The former West Virginia University standout played for the Maine Red Claws during the 2019-2020 season before being drafted No. 7 overall by Indios De Mayaguez, a team in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. The Indios franchise is located in western Puerto Rico.
