JCC Bounced In Playoffs By Mohawk Valley CC

UTICA — The Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team fell to Mohawk Valley CC, 4-0, in the NJCAA Region 3 quarterfinals on Wednesday.

At halftime, the score was level, but an early goal from Mohawk Valley CC in the second half forced the Jayhawks to begin pressing.

“We conceded a goal eight minutes into the second half,” said Jamestown CC head coach Pat Anderson. “We started pressing and when we did that we gave up more defensively.”

Bryan Anderson made 10 saves in net for the Jayhawks and Anderson noted defender Josh Haigh had an exceptionally good game.

“Mohawk Valley is a really good team,” added Anderson. “They’re the sixth-ranked team in the country.”

The Jayhawks finished the season with a 9-7 overall record.

“We started out the season very slowly,” Anderson said. “We won the last eight of ten and got better and better. They played their hearts out, and we’re looking forward to moving ahead.”
