The Jamestown Area Soap Box Derby was held Saturday at the John S. Sinatra track adjacent to Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park. From the left are Shelby Withers, winner of the Super Stock Division, and Isabella Blankenship, winner of the Stock Division. Withers, a freshman at Falconer Central School and sponsored by Aces Up Construction, and Blankenship, a seventh-grader at Jefferson Middle School and sponsored by Warren’s Hometown Market, will advance to the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio July 20-24. Other top finishers were Adon Swanson, Nathaniel Vandette, Jarrett Vincent, Nick Tomlinson and Braiden Patterson in the Super Stock Division; and Adele Canale, Adrianna Hasson, Bridget McQuiggan, Izayiah Holland and Liam Austin in the Stock Division. Finally, Alex Edick, Lokesh Anomalasetty and Liam Austin finished first through third respectively in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics Stock Division, while Talin Nugent and Olivia Artlip finished one-two in the STEM Super Stock Division.
