Jayhawks Compete In Deerfield

DEERFIELD — The Jamestown Community College cross country team ran at the Mohawk Valley CC Hawks Invitational Saturday afternoon.

“I’m really proud of how our runners competed this year,” said cross country head coach Sydney Beeman. “We are improving as a team every week and we are seeing the results.”

The women’s team was led by Emma Redlecki (Clymer/Clymer) who finished third out of five runners. Redlecki ran a 5K, finishing with a time of 28:23.1.

The men’s team was led by Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown/Southwestern) who finished seventh out of 24 runners. Vanstrom ran a 5K, finishing with a time of 20:39.5.

“Getting a few races under our belts, we have a better approach to each race,” added Beeman. “I’m excited to see how we compete now that we are halfway through the season.”

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to Corning CC.
