Alayah Sweeney led the Cougars with 27 points and 13 rebounds while Erina Ishiguro added 24 points and five assists.

Gabby Iuculano was the only player in double figures for the Jayhawks (9-15, 2-6) with 13 points.

Genesee CC (13-11, 6-2) led by just five after the first quarter, but pulled away with a 23-13 second quarter to take a 41-26 halftime advantage.

Jamestown CC made just seven field goals during a 47-22 second half, shooting just 17.9% from the field, including 2 of 16 (12.5% from 3-point range.

The Cougars also scored 19 points off 25 Jayhawks turnovers and outrebounded the hosts, 63-45.

Next up for the Jayhawks, Region 3’s No. 4 seed or the playoffs, will be a Wednesday night home game against No. 5 Erie CC (4-21, 0-10), a team which they beat twice during the regular season.
