The Jamestown Rebels trailed for all of Friday night’s contest against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and did not have the offensive firepower to climb out of that hole as the Knights claimed a 4-2 win in North American Hockey League East Division action in the Rebels’ home opener at Northwest Arena.

Spencer Kring opened up the scoring for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (5-4-0-0) a minute into the game and the visitors would make it 2-0 at 13:44 on Lincoln Hatten’s power-play goal from Tyron Bronte and Brian Smith.

The Rebels (1-5-0-2) would fight back in the second with a power-play goal as Nate Clark and Spencer Cosway found Eric Olson for the finish at 10:49.

The Knights would respond to that with another goal from Hatten, his seventh of the year on another assist from Bronte, his ninth.

Johnny Kaljian would make it 4-1 four minutes into the third period for the Knights, while Jamestown added its second goal at 14:57 on the power play with Liam Hansson and Clark finding Jordan Cormier for his second of the year.

Noah West stopped 29 of 33 shots for Jamestown and Zach Stejskal stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Knights.

Both teams will meet again tonight for another 7:05 p.m. puck drop inside Northwest Arena.
