After coming in second at the recent PSAC Championships, Edinboro finished with 64 points to outdistance second-place California(Pa.). The Vulcans totaled 87 points, while PSAC champion Shippensburg was third with 96 points. Seton Hill (151 points) came in fourth, while Kutztown (169) rounded out the top five. A total of 21 teams competed in the Atlantic Regional.

Redshirt sophomore Hope Pietrocarlo (Bemus Point/Maple Grove) finished third. The Vulcans were no match for Edinboro’s depth, however, as their next finisher was 26th. The Fighting Scots were ranked second to Shippensburg in the latest USTFCCCA Atlantic Region rankings, but made a statement on the muddy and hilly Bob O’Connor Golf Course layout.

Five of the top 21 finishers were Fighting Scots, led Pietrocarlo. After finishing 23rd at last year’s regional, she became a two-time All-Region performer with a third place showing thanks to a time of 24:06. She was also Edinboro’s top finisher at the PSAC Championships with a seventh place showing.

Edinboro will return to Schenley Park on Saturday, Dec. 1 to compete in the NCAA Division I National Championships.

The Cornell women’s hockey team overcame an early 2-0 deficit to come back and tie Princeton 2-2 Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink on the Princeton University campus.

The Big Red is now 5-1-3 on the season and 3-1-1 in ECAC play, while the Tigers are 5-2-3 overall and 4-0-2 in league play.

With 6:46 left in the contest, and Princeton going on the power play with a 2-1 lead, things looked bleak for the Big Red. Then, Cornell did something it has now done three times already this season– scored a shorthanded goal.

Senior Pippy Gerace (Jamestown) is a senior forward. As of Nov. 6, she had two goals and one assist.
