Trump’s Administration Has Only Been In Office One Month; Give Him A Chance

Regarding the article “Trump Doesn’t Look Like The Man Who Campaigned”– the writer’s whole article is based on the false assumption that Trump has completely abandoned many of his campaign themes. His reason being Trump has surrounded himself with those Wall Street power players that he accused his opponent of being in bed with. Where was your hypocritical voice when John Kerry was appointed Secretary of State? His fortune is worth more than Rex Tillerson’s. The writer goes on to say that Mr. Trump betrayed the people that voted for him. It is inconceivable to me how someone can make a claim like that since Trump financed his own campaign. I don’t understand why some people make things up like they do. I voted for him and don’t feel one bit betrayed. The iconoclastic views of some of the writers are very disconcerting and in many respects misinformed and wrong. Their arguments are generally based on fiction and far fetched conclusions which satisfies their own perspectives. They have become part of the “pack of dogs theory” biting at their own rear ends in a delirious manner and not realizing the damage they are doing to themselves and their party. They have inadvertently abandoned the very people that they profess to champion for. Their hatred for Trump has made them blind, mentally confused and intellectually misguided.

As I watch the protestors around the country I can’t help thinking how ironic and how humorous they are. Some are even heartbreaking. Humorous because when asked what they are protesting about many of them don’t have an intelligent answer and some just don’t know. When asked if they voted in the last election many say they did not. Heartbreaking because interviewers get the same answers from students at prestigious colleges and universities. These students represent our future. God help us. Ironic because when I read those sanctimonious left wing articles in The Post-Journal from individuals who feel they are the champions of the working classes I can’t help thinking to myself, the people they are hurting are the people they think they are helping. I lump them in the same category as students.

America’s economy has hurt the blue-collar worker. It slashed their paychecks. It devalued the type of work they did best. Regulations shut down factories, mines and shops in their communities. New industries sprouted in cities where they didn’t live. They got beat down by globalization and lost their dignity when industry moved to other countries. People without a college degree — men and women — made up a third of the 2016 electorate. Trump won them by 39 percentage points, according to exit polls, far surpassing 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s 25 percent margin. They were the foundation of his victories across the Rust Belt, including a blowout win in Ohio and stunning upsets in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. On Tuesday November 8, 2016, their frustrations helped elect Donald Trump. It was a rejection of business policies favored by elites in both parties, which deepened trade relationships with foreign countries and favored allowing more immigrants in for the benefit of Democrats. That is why Trump won the election. He garnered the support of those same people you profess to champion for.

As far as those Wall Street power players you are concerned about you have to consider some things. Between the NYSE and the NASDAQ there are approximately 5000 companies listed on wall street. The two largest companies on the NYSE were Exon-Mobil and IBM. Enter Rex Tillerson. Consider that these 5,000 companies have some of the brightest, innovative, growth orientated and cost conscious individuals working for them in the world. Also consider that these Wall Street companies are undoubtedly the economic engine of this country. Why wouldn’t you tap into their talent and experience. Many of those Wall Street power players accepted positions in the Trump Administration for way less money than they were earning in competitive employment. Trump did a no brainier which shouldn’t be too difficult to comprehend.

Here is novel idea. Why don’t we vote for a president who historically has the least experience of all of our Presidents, who voted to support the right of illegal aliens to participate in social security, who will turn a blind eye to the rule of law, who voted against making English the official language of the U.S. government, who voted against requiring school boards to install software on computers blocking sexually explicit material, who told law enforcement to stand down while rioters destroyed property and business, who has never managed a business, never managed a municipality and never managed a state and who seems to have an axe to grind with America, the military and law enforcement. Oops! We already did. The sad truth is that the United States today is weaker economically, more divided socially, and more disrespected across the globe than ever before. He made the wrong choices in all the areas in which he declared the dawn of a new era. That’s another reason why Trump won the election.

The anti-Trump radicals gave Obama 2,920 days to turn this country up side down, set race relations back 50 years, create the largest national debt of any of our presidents, open our borders to just about anyone who wants to come into this country and, two thousand nine hundred and twenty days to demoralize our military and cast negative aspersions on our law enforcement community to the point were they were open season and became apprehensive to do their jobs. As of this writing Trump has been in office 26 days. To all of you who want Donald Trump to fail you better hope he doesn’t. Get a grip, give him a chance, grow up, and be careful what you wish for or you might shoot yourself in the foot.
