To The Reader’s Forum: Last week a gang of House Republicans stormed an Intel committee inquiry investigating abuse of power and national security concerns by Donald Trump. Their actions broke House rules that they themselves instituted years earlier. Their actions were meant to intimidate witnesses — they failed. Their excuses for the circus event, “we have no voice, this process is unconstitutional, closed doors, inquiry held in secrecy.” The facts however do no bear out their claims and talking points. Save The Character Of Downtown Falconer

To The Reader’s Forum: I wouldn’t deny the need for additional low income housing in that area but I do think it odd to turn the downtown of Falconer into residential. I also do not understand the need for additional retail stores when there are many empty store fronts available. The heart of the town as Main Street used to be had many retail stores. Town Supervisor Candidate Agrees That ‘Truth Matters’

To The Reader’s Forum: I assume Mr. Robbins will not make any corrections to his errors and/or misleading statements in his recent P-J letter. I agree with the current supervisor that “truth matters” and so do simple math skills. He states his tax levies(without special districts) increased “2.4% over six budgets.” However, the town 2019 levy divided by 2013 levy ($1,193,318-$962,195)/$962,195 = 0.240204) was in fact an increase of 24% over six budgets. To The Reader’s Forum: A recent letter from a National Fuel analyst to NY industrial consumers of natural gas suggests that its customers have two options: ¯ Get out of New York state while you can. ¯ Stay and fight Governor Cuomo’s new Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). To The Reader’s Forum: I have to laugh at the shallowness of the criticism I received for my objections to the Cuomo hairstyle law. I do not contend there should be all white work places nor do I ask why that is socially unacceptable if all black or all Muslim work places are not. I am saying employers should have the liberty to decide for themselves, not you or Governor Cuomo or anyone else. It should be an individual, not a social or collective decision.
