Lee Edward “The Wizard” Hunt

He was born June 21, 1953, in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Lee Lloyd and Sarah I. Shoemaker Hunt.

He was a 1971 graduate of Mayville Central School and also earned a bachelor’s degree from Fredonia State College. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He had worked for Erie 1 BOCES in West Seneca, NY as a Micro Computer Specialist.

He enjoyed coming down to Chautauqua County to meet up with friends at the local coffee shops, gaming, especially Dungeons and Dragons and Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, attending local Star Trek events, and reading the Far Side comics. He loved to read history, literature, and military history and study his family history with trains of New York Central and Pennsylvania Central, and also of his family history of owning and operating steamboats on Chautauqua Lake. From a young age, he was known to wear a train engineer’s hat which he still would wear into his adulthood.

Lee is survived by his two sisters: Coralyn Hawthorne of Titusville, PA, and Sally Bird of Mayville, NY, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Lloyd A. Hunt a sister; Joan M. Walsh, and several nieces and nephews.

At Lee’s request, there will be no public visitation observed at this time. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
