Roy Warner Jr.

Roy Warner Jr.

Roy Warner Jr., 67, left high school to join the Marines and served proudly and honorably. He passed away on June 9, 2026.

He worked as a foundryman at Chautauqua Hardware in the years following his Service. He never had just one job and would often have up to three jobs at one time in order to support his family. In his later years, he supervised large cleaning crews that completed specialty cleaning for hospitals, forensic units, and police departments. After retirement, my father worked at Mapleside Farms and became the family mechanic.

If my dad could be described in one phrase, it would be the rock that holds our family together. He was the calm in the middle of any storm, the protector and supporter of many family members, and anyone that was ever in need. My dad would have given the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Many times he would get up in the middle of the night to answer someone’s call. He was always the entertainer. In his younger years, he hosted many parties and in his later years he transitioned to hosting cookouts. Whenever there was a family gathering, my dad would be the last to get a plate of food. His grandchildren from Ohio called him Bobo and the most important thing to my dad in the entire world was his family.

When he was younger, he was a coach for kids activities. He was a Boy Scout leader, a T-ball coach, a softball coach anything that his children did he participated in and supported them.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and he is survived by his daughter, Jessica and Tim Smith of Jamestown New York, son, Joseph Warner of Bedford, Ohio, loving Partner of 20 years, Lori Lockett and his grandchildren, Garin and Gage Smith (Jamestown) Alexia and Zackary Warner (Bedford) , Skylar Paxton (Missouri), a sister, Alberta Monagle, two brothers, Robert Warner (Kerry), Edward Warner (Kim) and several cousins. He also leaves behind his bonus children and grandchildren from Ohio: Russell Lovett (Rayne, Talon, Neela, Nehemiah, Leo, Judah), Rachael and Brian Holbert (Gerald), and Jennifer Lockett and Sam (Ella).

He loved cooking, gardening, going to concerts, and crafting. He could often be found with a different project that he was working on when he wasn’t working. Most recently he took up leather work and became a flea market vendor. Anything to keep himself busy. My dad worked until the hours before his passing.

Calling hours are from Noon-1:00 pm with a service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20 at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212.
