Charles Howe Wilson
HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Charles Howe Wilson, 92, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at his home in Hillsborough. He was born March 3, 1929 ,in Rochester, N.Y., the son of the late Charles and Luella (Howe)Wilson.
A 1947 graduate of Brighton High School, he earned a bachelors degree from Duke University, having been elected President in Perpetuity of his senior class (1951). He attended Columbia University Graduate School of Marketing and completed the University of Houston Executive Development Program.
After attending Officer Candite School, Ft. Riley Kansas, he was assigned to Recruiting Publicity Bureau, 1st Army Head-quarters, Governors Island, New York.
Upon discharge from the U.S. Army, Chuck served in numerous management positions with Exxon Company, USA over approximately a 30 year career. His managerial assignments included upstate New York, Long Island and New Eng-land.
His Duke University activities included the Annual Fund Executive Committee, Half Century Club president, 50th reunion class chair, lifetime Iron Duke, membership in the Heritage, Founders and James B. Duke Society (endowed academic scholar-ships). He was presented with the Charles A. Dukes Award for outstanding volunteer service.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Donna Bark-man; sons: Ed and Tom; grandson, Zack; and daughter-in-law, Krista. He was married to his beloved wife for 61 years (Aug. 29, 2021).
Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Jamestown, N.Y.
