Robert D. Storms

Robert D. Storms, 76, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

A lifelong area resident, he was born June 14, 1944, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Roy J. and Linee Engdahl Storms and was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Before his retirement years he was employed by the Carborundum Company Monofrax Plant as a mold setter for over 25 years.

Following his retirement, he worked for the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System (CARTS) for 10 years.

He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a very proud dad and grandpa and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities.

He loved getting together for the holidays and his favorite time of year was Christmastime. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Christine C. Triscari Storms, whom he married Sept. 1, 1962; his three children; Brenda (John) Salemme of Jamestown, N.Y., Lisa (Cecil) Miller of Lakewood, N.Y., and Robert S. (Kathy) Storms of Jamestown, N.Y.; five grandchildren; Carly (Adam) Powers of Pittsburgh, Pa., Corine Salemme of Buffalo, N.Y., Kyle (Rachael) Miller of Independence, Ky., Robert M. Storms and Christian Storms, both of Jamestown; four great-grandchildren: Nash and Camden Powers of Pittsburgh, Reese and Collins Miller of Independence; and a brother, Roy K. Storms of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronald C. “Bud” Storms, Richard W. Storms and Rodney D. Storms, a sister; Marlene McConaghay; his step-father, Joseph (Jasper) Galati; and his brother-in-law, who he considered his special brother, Russell L. Triscari.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on a walk-through basis from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, in the funeral home where

masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Robert was a 16 year plus lung transplant survivor, therefore, the family suggests that memorials may be made to The Cleveland Clinic Lung Transplant Program, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195 or to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 1645 West 8th St, Erie, PA 16505-5097.
