Alice Paulus
Alice Paulus of Brookdale, Lakewood, N.Y., formerly of Mayville, died peacefully Friday, May 1, 2020. She was born Aug. 11, 1925, the daughter of Jesse and Mamie Dunbar Bates. She married David Paulus, May 11, 1947.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Thomas Paulus; and her two sisters: Mary Morse and June Wilcox.
She is survived by four children; Diane Paulus of Mayville, N.Y., Susan Sebastian of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., Jeff (Kathy) Paulus of Mayville, N.Y., and Kay (Kiki Sepulveda) Paulus of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren: Barry (Jill) Paulus, Shawn (Samantha) Paulus, Eric Paulus, Alicia (Michael) Newport, Tammy Sebastian, Kristin (Leo) Renteria, Adam Sepulveda; 10 greatgrandchildren: Emily Paulus, Abigail Paulus, Katie Paulus, Collin Paulus, Thomas Paulus, David Paulus, Hunter Renteria, Hannah Renteria, London Newport, Sebastian Newport; and her special friend, William Fitzgibbons.
Alice loved life, her family and friends. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Tuesday Club, Mozart Club and the Mayville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8647 Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at St Luke’s Thrift Shop.
No visitation will be observed. Alice asked that all family and friends gather on her 95th birthday this summer for a celebration of life picnic. The date of this gathering will be announced at a later date.
