Frederick J. Meacham

RANDOLPH — Frederick J. Meacham, 87, of South Washington Street, Randolph, passed away Monday (June 24, 2019) at home.

He was born Aug. 25 1931, in Randolph, the son of the late Benjamin and Emma J. Bentley Meacham.

Fred attended Randolph Central School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. serving during the Korean War era. He was a retired valued 45 year employee of the former Randolph Dimension Corporation, where he served as a mill wright.

His interests included camping, hunting and fishing, watching country western movies, watching the New York Yankees and WWE wrestling.

He is survived by two daughters: Caroline (Jeff Lowery) Meacham of Jamestown and Debra (Ron McCormick) Richards of Frewsburg; three sons: Frederick (Robin) Meacham Jr. of Celoron, Donald (Cindy Johnson) Meacham of Jamestown and Josh (Kelly Wolfe) Meacham of Randolph; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Elaine Finch of Falconer.

Fred was preceded in death by siblings; James, Harding, Bennie, Charles and Albert Meacham, Josephine Blood Walters, Virginia Walters, Mary Wendell, Isabel Caswell, Bessie Loomis and Emma Walters and his ex-wife, Elma Janice Keith.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday (June 26, 2019) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. A military services and honors will be held immediately following visitation at 1 p.m., conducted by the Randolph American Legion Post 181, under the direction of Chaplain Randall Honey.
