David T. "Koz" Kozlowski
David T. “Koz” Kozlowski, 66, of Brocton, N.Y., passed away Sunday afternoon Oct. 28, 2018, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, N.Y., surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1951, in Dunkirk, N.Y., and was the son of the late Thomas and Joyce (Furman) Kozlowski.
After graduation from Brocton Central School, David went to Jamestown Community College and obtained an associates degree in business. David married Susan Delcamp on Nov. 12, 1972, in Jamestown, N.Y., and together they raised two wonderful children.
He had been employed by Welch Foods for 42 years, retiring in 2013, after his 42 years of service. He served as a union steward with the United Food Commercial Workers District Union Local 1. Dave was also a Chautauqua County corrections officer for more than 10 years. He had been the head deacon at the Brocton Seventh- day Adventist Church, which he helped build along with his fellow parishioners and family.
“Koz” was a Brocton resident for most of his life where he had built his home with his own hands. He was an exempt fireman with the Brocton Fire Department and also a member of the Moniuszko Social Club of Dunkirk, N.Y. He was an outdoorsman, a classic car enthusiast and loved working in his shop. Dave was also an avid Buffalo Bills and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was a very devoted family man and well-known prankster. His love for his family always came first.
David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan (Delcamp) Kozlowski; one daughter Shannon (Phillip) Wright; one son, Matthew (Rosanne) Kozlowski;, one brother, Michael (Cindy) Kozlowski; one sister. Sandra (Art) Miller; and grand- children: Noah Wright, Hunter and Lily Kozlowski.
Family and friends may call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., on Tuesday Oct. 30, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., on Wednesday morning, Oct/ 31, 2018. at the funeral home. The services will be officiated by Pastor Zach Musselmen of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
