Mary G. Buccola, 96, of Falconer, passed away Friday (March 16, 2018) at Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area residen,t she was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Falconer, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Cavaretta Buccola.
Mary was a graduate of Falconer High School and in earlier years was employed by National Worsted Mills. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Marine Midland Bank in Falconer.
She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church in Falconer. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking with her sister, Teresa, and making cannoli’s for the annual St. Joseph’s Table for Our Lady Of Loreto Catholic Church. Mary received the St. Joseph’s, “The Worker Award” for her dedicated service and was presented by the Bishop of the Buffalo Catholic Diocese.
Surviving is her sister, Teresa Buccola of Falconer; two nephews: Joseph (Stephanie) Buccola of Falconer and Lory (Amy) Buccola of Frewsburg; three nieces: Sylvia Chiazzese and Louise Chiazzese, both of Falconer and Sarah Ann Buccola of Jamestown; two grandnieces: Michelle Buccola and Ashley Buccola; three grandnephews: Joey Buccola, Jason Buccola and Chad Buccola; two great-grand nephews: Brody Taylor and Isaac Destro; and a great- grandniece, Ryleigh Buccola.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lory Buccola in 2001; and a sister, Loretta J. Chiazzese in 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Jananczek, pastor of the church will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4:30 p.m., Sunday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society will conduct a rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
