DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT — A 23-year-old city resident is facing charges after attempting to break-in to a nearby residence. Dunkirk police report Manuel Eusebio Jr., 23, of 27 W. Lucas Ave., was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief after the department received a call reporting a male subject was attempting to break into a victim’s apartment through the front door around 10 a.m. Thursday. WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT — WESTFIELD — A pair of Westfield residents have been charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after an investigation at the village Little League fields. Around 10 p.m. Sept. 24, officers conducting a check of 25 W. Main St. observed a pair of bicycles parked outside of a building. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT – Dan Crisoptimo Baez, 33, of Rochester, was sentenced Monday, to a determinate state prison sentence of 5 years with 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of second-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D violent felony. In March, the New York State Police conducted a traffic stop of Crisoptimo Baez’s vehicle in the town of Portland. Upon search of the vehicle, troopers located a loaded 9 mm pistol and arrested Crisoptimo Baez, charging him with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C violent felony. ...

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT – Max Thompson, age 38, homeless of Jamestown, was sentenced Sept. 25 by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of 5 years with 5 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of second-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D violent felony. In November 2023, Thompson was arrested by the Jamestown Police Department after he damaged property to the UCAN City Mission and made threats towards employees. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Larry L Hicks, 44, of Jamestown was charged with being a fugitive from justice, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest at 1:56 a.m. Monday after officers responded to a south side home for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim and Larry Hicks. A subsequent investigation determined Hicks had allegedly pulled the woman’s purse away from her, damaging it. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT --- HANOVER --- At 10:01 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Alleghany Road. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Veronica T. Scordato of Williamsville. Further investigation found Scordato to be driving while intoxicated. Scordato was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
