Lakewood fire blamed on electrical issue LAKEWOOD — An electrical issue is being blamed for a fire Wednesday morning. At about 5:50 a.m., Lakewood Fire Department, along with mutual aid, responded to a residential blaze on Freeman Street. Once extinguished, Lakewood Fire requested the Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Team. Following an investigation, it was determined that the fire originated within a first floor wall due to an electrical issue. No injuries have been reported. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Tony J. Stebbins 37, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday after officers responded to a domestic disturbance on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, officers learned Stebbins had left the scene after allegedly hitting a woman in the face multiple times with a closed fist, causing her eyes to swell shut. JAMESTOWN POLICE - William R. Tilyou, 35, of Jamestown was charged with being a fugitive from justice after police responded to people near a condemned residence at 11:30 p.m. Sunday on the city’s north side. Through investigation, it was found that Tilyou had an active warrant out of Erie County, Pa. Tilyou was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned. - Jezreel Deleon, 19, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest at 2:43 a.m. Monday after city police officers investigated a 911 hang-up. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — ELLERY — Around 8:53 p.m. Friday, deputies were dispatched to a reported vehicle complaint. It was reported the vehicle was operating at a high rate of speed and was all over the road. Deputies did locate the vehicle in a ditch. Through an investigation it was found the operator, Frank G. Hagberg, 50, of Jamestown, was operating while intoxicated. Hagberg was charged with DWI, moving from lane unsafely and uninspected motor vehicle. ELLICOTT POLICE - Dakota J. Gibbon, 36, of Cassadaga was charged with petit larceny on Dec. 23 after Ellicott police officers responded to a reported shoplifting. Gibbons allegedly entered Target and removed items without paying for them. Gibbon will be in Ellicott Town Court later. - Angela B. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Erin R. Dale, 43, of Jamestown, was charged Sunday with fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest. According to police, at about 5:42 p.m., officers responded to the city’s south side for a report of a domestic incident. Upon further investigation, officers learned that Dale allegedly damaged property during the dispute, and after she was told she was under arrest, Dale attempted to prevent officers from taking her into custody.
