Jamestown woman charged in city arson A Jamestown woman has been charged with second-degree arson after a fire investigation at a southside residence in the city. Jamestown police report at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, they responded to a structure fire. During the on-scene investigation, officers found that the fire was intentionally set. Officers then made contact with Amber J. Hitchcock, 31. During the investigation it was found that Hitchcock set the residence on fire while other tenants were in the building. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Chelline M. Occhipinti, 42, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to 108 E. Third St. for a reported larceny. Occhipinti allegedly concealed store merchandise in an attempt to steal it. She was charged, taken to the city jail briefly and released with an appearance ticket. Occhipinti was then charged again at 8:05 a.m. Thursday with second-degree criminal trespass after officers responded to a reported burglary at a north side address. Cohen, 47, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree attempted assault following an investigation of an incident that took place June 17 at the Chautauqua County Jail. Cohen will answer to the charge in Chautauqua Town Court. – WESTFIELD – Jocelyn A. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Mark J. Riolo, 57, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny, third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass at noon June 20 when officers responded to a north side address for a reported past-tense domestic incident. While investigating the incident, Riolo arrived and questioned the victim about the police presence. Officers learned that Riolo had allegedly illegally entered the victim’s garage and residence, causing damage to the victim’s property. Partyka, 22, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering and resisting arrest at 5:30 a.m. June 17 after officers responded to a panic alarm at a downtown address. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found Partyka inside the business displaying erratic behavior. Following an investigation, it was determined that Partyka had caused $1,000 in damages to the property. Missing swimmer’s body located in Chautauqua Lake An Ohio man who was swimming and went missing on Chautauqua Lake was located Sunday. On Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a submerged swimmer on Chautauqua Lake north of Chautauqua Institution. The Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team and the department's marine division responded and were unable to locate the swimmer. The search was paused due to darkness and resumed on Sunday.
