JAMESTOWN POLICE - Zachery Vorse, 22, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 6 p.m. Friday after officers responded to a south side home for a reported violation of an order of protection. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Vorse, who was allegedly at the residence of a person protected by an order of protection issued by Jamestown City Court. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CELORON – On Thursday around 12:15 a.m., the Celoron Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to a garage fire at 22 W 9th St. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire originated in the northeast portion of the garage and was caused by the malfunction of a lithium-ion battery back.

ELLICOTT POLICE - Kaylee M. Smith, 33, of Frewsburg was charged with second-degree harassment and third-degree criminal tampering at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 31. It’s alleged Smith threw a large soft drink striking an employee at a local fast food business in Ellicott. Smith was later found in Frewsburg and issued an appearance ticket. Smith will be in Ellicott Town Court later. - Richard A. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT – Christopher A. Calhoun, 36, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. It is alleged that Calhoun was at a residence of a person who had an Order of Protection against him and threatened the individual.
