CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — MAYVILLE — A Brocton man has been charged in a 2023 burglary. On Nov. 18, 2023, deputies were called to investigate a burglary that occurred in the village where a moped was stolen from a shed. Through an investigation deputies were able to get enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief for the arrest of James Mawhir, 36. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Anthony L. Anzalone, 49, was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 11:21 p.m., officers responded to a Northside address for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female victim. It was discovered that Anzalone allegedly had destroyed her property, inside her residence, and then fled the scene. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Ayomide Israel-Akindo, 22, was charged Nov. 14 with obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 5:46 p.m., officers responded to the UCAN City Mission for a reported unwanted person on the premises. Police said officers arrived on scene and were advised by staff that Israel-Akindo was no longer welcome on the property. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Destiny C. Sanneman-Butler, 25, of Jamestown, was charged Nov. 23 with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and Mandy M. Hepler-Brady, 48, of Jamestown also was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. According to police, at about 8:47 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at West Eighth and Main streets. Pets perish in morning Dunkirk fire DUNKIRK — Dunkirk firefighters battled a blaze Sunday morning on Lord Street where a number of pets perished. Officials say the Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a window at 106 Lord St. around 7:21 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire on the first floor in the rear of the home. Firefighters brought the fire under control using two hose lines and tools. The house suffered significant interior damage. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Noah DA. Smith, 19, of Jamestown, was charged Nov. 20 with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and having an outstanding arrest warrant. According to police, at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a city business for a reported trespass complaint. Officers arrived on scene to find Smith allegedly inside the business.
