CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — CHAUTAUQUA — At 4:34 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and North Lake Fire Department responded to a snowmobile accident in the area of McKay Road. Man charged after striking shoveler with weapon A 55-year-old man is facing a number of charges after an incident with a weapon on New Year’s Eve. Dunkirk Police report Jerry J. Small was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree menacing, trespass and second-degree harassment. Officers received a complaint that an unknown man came on a complainant’s property and attempted to hit them with a homemade weapon after 4:30 p.m. Patrols reviewed the footage they provided and identified the suspect as Small. State Police Probing Possible Shooting COLLINS --- At approximately 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Troopers out of the Collins barracks responded to a possible shooting incident at 3625 Edgewood Drive. A preliminary investigation is still ongoing and the State Police Special Operations Response Team, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office are on scene. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Deven J. Colburn, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with having an active felony warrant and resisting arrest. Around 5:10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on the east side of the city. It was reported to officers that the male was on the caller’s porch and the caller didn’t recognize the male. Upon arrival, officers located an individual matching the provided description. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — SILVER CREEK — A village resident is facing charges after a domestic incident Wednesday. At around 3:56 p.m., members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office as well as the New York State Police were dispatched to an address. After investigation it was found that Joseph R. Miller III, 25, did intentionally cause physical injury to another person when he did punch another male in the residence in the face causing injury. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT Marcus E. Merced, 19, of Jamestown, was charged Dec. 22 fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 12:35 p.m. officers were flagged down, and informed of a domestic dispute at a Northside residence. Upon speaking with the victim, police said, officers determined that Merced allegedly had intentionally damaged the victim’s cellphone. Merced was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail, and later released. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
