JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Xavier L. Williams, 23, of Jamestown is facing numerous charges after a domestic dispute early Saturday, including the assault of a Jamestown police officer.
Around 12:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to a south-side address. Prior to arrival, officers were advised the suspect had forced entry into a nearby residence. Upon arrival, officers attempted to place the suspect, Williams, into custody. Williams refused commands and attempted to strike a uniformed police officer. During the struggle to place Williams into custody, another officer sustained a minor injury.
Once Williams was in custody, officers determined that he grabbed and choked a female victim prior to forcefully entering the nearby residence and attempted to strike occupants inside. Williams was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was awaiting arraignment.
He was also charged with second-degree attempted assault on an officer, second-degree burglary, criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree attempted assault, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
— Jennifer M. Allen, 38, was charged with petit larceny on Saturday. Around 6:58 p.m., officers responded to Rite-Aid at 50 S. Main St. for a past tense shoplifting.
Officers learned that suspect Allen had placed store merchandise in her shirt before exiting the store without paying for said merchandise. Allen was located near the scene and taken into custody without incident. Allen was transported to the Jamestown City jail pending arraignment.
— Timothy S. Smith, 42, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and four counts of second-degree criminal contempt after an incident Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded to an address on the south side of the city for a violation of an order of protection complaint at 3 p.m. Upon arrival, officer’s made contact with suspect,
Smith as he exited the victim’s residence.
Subsequent investigation revealed Smith was issued a valid stay away order of protection against several members of the victim’s family this morning prior to being released from jail. Upon being released from jail, Smith entered and remained inside the victim’s residence as three of the protected children were inside.
Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was held pending arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— HANOVER — At around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to Jaekle Avenue for a report of an altercation. Through investigation it was discovered that Robert J Bissell, 41 of Hanover, did make unwanted physical contact to another individual. Bissell was charged with second-degree harassment. Bissell was taken into custody and was transported to county jail for arraignment.
— SILVER CREEK — A mattress fire outside a home on Andrus Circle in the village has led to charges against a family member.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist a fire and rescue call at a residence around 7:45 p.m. Thursday. An investigation determined that 31-year-old Elizabeth R. Espinosa did leave a family member who is unable to care for himself or herself due to a mental disability, thus causing the incident.
Espinosa was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and is to be in the Town of Hanover Court later.
