LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

¯ Daniel S. Babyak, 49, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Babyak allegedly failed to pay for a hat valued at $6.97 from Walmart on Friday. Babyak was also reportedly found in possession of heroin. Babyak is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ Kareem P. Obrian, 19, of West Babylon, N.Y., was charged with petit larceny. Obrian allegedly failed to pay for all the items he had in his shopping cart from Walmart totaling $53.61. Obrian is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ Caroline J. Bellardo, 50, of Jamestown, was charged with moving from lane unsafely and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Bellardo was stopped at 12:48 a.m. on Sunday for a traffic violation on Shadyside Avenue. An investigation found that Bellardo was allegedly intoxicated. Bellardo is scheduled to appear in court later. Officers were assisted by a K-9 unit with the Sheriff’s Office.

¯ Karen L. Freed, 72, of Lakewood, was charged with driving while intoxicated, no/inadequate lights and refusal to take a breath test. An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Chautauqua Avenue with no lights on around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday. An investigation found that Freed was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Patrick Hazelton, 30, no address listed, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday to a reported domestic incident on the north side of the city. It was learned that Hazelton allegedly called someone with a valid stay away order of protection against him. A short time later, Hazelton showed up to the address of the protected party and left prior to officers arriving. Hazelton was located across the street from the caller’s home. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Cassie R. Moore, 34, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Moore was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at 6:04 a.m. on Sunday and was found to have bench warrants out of Jamestown City Court. Moore was also allegedly found with a quantity of fentanyl and cocaine. Moore was held for arraignment in court.

¯ Jamie N. Perrin, 34, of Russell, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Cassandra M. Wick, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation. Officers stopped a vehicle at 2:36 a.m. on Saturday for having inadequate lights. Perrin, the driver, was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Wick, a passenger, reportedly gave officers a false name and it was later learned she had a warrant for her arrest. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail. Perrin was later released while Wick was held for arraignment.

¯ Christopher J. Howie, 50, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. Chantilly L. Southwick, 40, of Frewsburg, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and making an improper turn. Officers stopped a vehicle at 10:11 p.m. on Saturday at West Eighth Street and Jones and Gifford Avenue. While speaking to the driver, officers saw what appeared to be methamphetamine. Howie was later found to be violating an order of protection from a passenger in the vehicle.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ WESTFIELD — At about 4:44 p.m. Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies and the Westfield Police Department responded to an address in the town for a report of a domestic incident. Through further investigation, it was discovered that Sydney Switzer, 18, of the town assaulted another person causing them to have face lacerations and be treated by medical personnel. She was placed into custody and transported to Westfield police where she was processed. Switzer was then taken to the Mayville jail and arraigned. She is set to appear in the town of Westfield Court at a later date and time.
