CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ STOCKTON — Justin L. Horton, 36, of Stockton, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies were called to Stockton for an unwanted person. An investigation found that Horton was allegedly violating an order of protection. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ POLAND — At about 7:36 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Sprague Hill Road. Upon arrival deputies located Patricia A. Bloomgren, 56, of Falconer, at the scene. After an investigation it was found that Bloomgren had been operating her vehicle northbound when she abruptly swerved to avoid a perceived obstruction in the road, resulting in her going down an embankment on the western side of the road. It was further found that Bloomgren had been operating this vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Bloomgren was transported from the scene by EMS personnel for apparent non-life threatening injuries. Bloomgren was issued traffic tickets for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to keep right. Bloomgren will be in the Town of Poland Court at a later date.

¯ WESTFIELD — A Mayville man is facing charges after allegedly striking a woman with a wooden table leg. At about 9:05 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to a physical altercation at a residence on Barber Road in the town. An investigation found that Tyler Stakelum, 32, allegedly struck the individual in the head with the object causing a large laceration. Stakelum was taken into custody after putting up a fight with deputies. Stakelum was transported to Chautauqua County Jail to be held pending arraignment. He was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest. The victim of the transported to the hospital by Westfield Fire Department for treatment of her injuries.
