CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ELLERY — Scott R. Powers, 18, of Moreland Hills, Ohio was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle Sept. 12 at 6:56 p.m. in the town of Ellery. While Deputies were taking this alleged stolen vehicle report another deputy was on the scene of a single motor vehicle accident in the town of Chautauqua. It was learned that the vehicle involved in the crash was the alleged stolen vehicle. Powers was issued an appearance ticket following an investigation and is scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ David Payne III, 30, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and aggravated family offense. Officers responded at 9:33 p.m. on Wednesday to East Fourth Street for a reported domestic incident. Payne was found to have an outstanding felony warrant, and during an investigation it was learned that Payne had allegedly struck the victim several times with a guitar causing multiple injuries and breaking the guitar. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Darius J. Thomas, 18, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday to Barrett Avenue for a reported domestic disturbance. An investigation found that Thomas had a stay away order of protection from another person at the residence. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail.
