CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ NORTH HARMONY — Cody A. Whitehill, 25, of Stow was charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, refusal to take a breath test, operate out of ignition interlock restriction and inadequate/no muffler. Deputies stopped a vehicle Sunday at 9:07 p.m. on Old Bridge Road in the town of North Harmony for a traffic violation. An investigation determined Whitehill was driving in an intoxicated state. He was also found to have a revoked driver’s license. Whitehill was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Robert E. Tonkin Jr., 27, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated family offense and second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded Saturday at 3:57 p.m. to Ivy Street for a report of an unwanted person and learned that Tonkin had violated an order of protection. Tonkin was also found to have multiple warrants for his arrest. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Evangeline R. Howard, 41, of Bemus Point was charged with petit larceny. Officers responded Saturday at 4:40 p.m. to Tops Markers on Washington Street for a shoplifting complaint. It was determined that Howard walked past the point of sale and attempted to leave the store with $353.63 worth of merchandise. Howard was released with an appearance ticket to be in Jamestown City Court later.

¯ Antonio Q. Hall, 26, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree criminal trespass. Officers responded Sunday at 3:25 a.m. to a report of a person injured. It was learned that Hall had allegedly choked a female inside their apartment and prevent the female from escaping through a bedroom window. The female was able to escape in a vehicle after Hall used a hammer to break a mirror. Hall reportedly went to a Jefferson Street residence looking for the female and attempted to force entry inside. Police located Hall at the scene and was taken into custody. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Katie M. Evans, 38, of Fredonia was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. Officers stopped a vehicle Saturday at 9:11 p.m. in the area of West Seventh and Monroe streets for an expired inspection sticker An investigation found that Evans was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by the use of drugs. She was released with tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ GERRY — Amanda S. Sendall, 33, of Gerry was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies received a report of a suspicious situation that took place on Wilson Road in the town of Gerry. Sendall was charged following an investigation by the Chautauqua County Criminal Investigation Division. Sendall is scheduled to appear in Gerry Town Court later.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Victoria E. Busch, 30, of Silver Creek was charged with petit larceny. Busch was observed Saturday concealing items in Walmart by asset protection, who contacted police. Busch, who reportedly passed all points of sale without paying, was taken into custody and released with a ticket to appear in Busti Town Court later.

¯ Theresa Kennedy, 36, of Gowanda was charged with petit larceny. Kennedy was observed Saturday concealing items in Walmart by asset protection. Kennedy reportedly passed all points of sale and was taken into custody. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Mark G. Watson, 29, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded Friday at 7:16 p.m. to a domestic dispute at a residence in West Ellicott. Upon arrival, Watson was found hiding in the attic. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ James D. Mawhir, 30, no address listed, was charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police were called Saturday at 6:30 a.m. to a reported domestic abuse complaint at the Budget Inn in Falconer. A female was found with numerous marks and swelling on her neck. The victim stated that Mawhir on several occasions had allegedly assaulted her during the night. At one point, the female said a chord was placed around her neck. Mawhir was located later that day at a Falconer business and was taken into custody, where he was also reportedly found to be in possession of two controlled substances. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail.
