CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

¯ Daniel B. Thompson, 29, of Brighman City, Utah, was charged on Monday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and no/inadequate tail lamps. At approximately 9:51 p.m. on Sunday, sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction on Route 394 in the town of Chautauqua and conducted a traffic stop. After a short investigation, it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Thompson, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and was subsequently taken into custody. After processing, Thompson was released with traffic citations for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and no/inadequate tail lamps. Thompson will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date to answer charges.

¯ Jacob S. Dehart, 21, of Erie, Pa., is facing a number of charges after a motor vehicle accident in Mayville on Saturday. Around 10:40 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash with injuries near the intersection of Chautauqua and Erie Streets in the village. Upon investigation, it was determined that a vehicle operated by Dehart was traveling at a high rate of speed going eastbound on Chautauqua Street when it struck another vehicle from behind. Both vehicles then continued eastbound before leaving the roadway and striking a fence. The vehicle Dehart struck had three passengers. One adult female was transported to UPMC Chautauqua WCA for non-life threatening injuries. A juvenile male was flown via Starflight to Women and Children’s Hospital for possible serious injuries while the third occupant was not injured. Further investigation into the incident found Dehart to allegedly be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and later charged driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speed not reasonable and prudent, move from lane unsafely and following too closely. He was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

¯ Steven J. Seavy, 26, of Brocton, was charged Aug. 18 with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Around 2:32 a.m. on Aug 18, sheriff’s deputies located Seavy at a residence on East Main Street in the village of Brocton for two active arrest warrants out of Brocton. In the course of apprehension, deputies located precursors to manufacturing methamphetamine as well as various drug paraphernalia. Seavy was detained on a new arrest warrant issued by Brocton Village Court. The investigation into the incident is continuing and further charges are pending.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Andrew F. Mealy, 27, of Jamestown, was charged on Aug. 19 with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and aggravated family offense following an incident that occurred around 4:58 p.m. Officers responded to an East Second Street residence for a domestic dispute. It’s alleged that Mealy did restrain a female victim by holding her down on a bed. Mealy was located and arrested for second-degree unlawful imprisonment. The investigation revealed Mealy had a prior domestic family offense conviction within the past five years. He was subsequently charged with aggravated family offense. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident. Mealy is also being supervised by probation.

¯ Brandon K. Guillory, 36, of Jamestown, was charged on Aug. 19 with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, third-degree assault and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a Park Street address for a report of a domestic possibly involving a hammer as a weapon. Officers arrived on scene and determined that Guillory fled the scene of the domestic prior to arrival. Officers determined Guillory had menaced the victim with a metal claw hammer, assaulted the victim, tore an article of the victim’s clothing, prevented the victim from calling 911, and did all of this in the presence of four children. Guillory was apprehended by police a short time later at a nearby address. He was transported to the City Jail for arraignment.
